Here I am back in the Guinness factory, but unlike the last time we went there quite late, of sudden we began to lay on since the Dublin Sky bar from the factory, I let you enjoy the view:

Kilkenny with the International Association
This Saturday, I visited Kilkenny with the international association. You will say "But where is Kilkenny?" Kilkenny is a small town two hours drive south-east of Dublin. The city has become very touristy, I must say it is quite rich in monuments.
First we visit St. Canice's Cathedral (which is the second longest in Ireland). This Anglican cathedral dated thirteenth century and was the venue of the Lady Alice Kyteler, one of the most witches Famous Irish. Right next to the cathedral, there is a round tower dating from 849. AC cétait one of the animations of the day, this tower is 30 meters high and is quite narrow, as saying that up to the summit, and especially down, it was pretty funny:
The famous ascent of the tower
City View from the top of the tower
Traditional pub meals. For the record, we must know that the Smithwick's (pronounced Smittick) is originally from Kilkenny. The Smithwick's Irish Amber beer is the best known.
visit to the city of Kilkenny ended with a visit to the castle. This castle is subblime, and rather well preserved (it is reputed to be one of the most beautiful in Ireland, in any case, it is much bigger than Dublin). This castle was one of the Butler family, which was one of the richest family in Ireland (before they all leave the United States, ah good, too ...). It must also be said that this family through assured between Ireland and the King of England.
The tour then ended with a visit to Dunmore Caves, about 10 km outside the city. This set of cavities formed over thousands of years (no, I do not quite as told tonight), and was only discovered when the roof collapsed, ie, just before the Vikings landed in Ireland (about the ninth century). Archaeological excavations have uncovered a lot of valuables which had been hidden here, but also the remains of the body (of animals and humans). Detail a little odd is the presence of skeletal monkey ... What are they going to do there?!? Of course, level stones, you can find anything you want:

Visit of the Old Jameson Distillery Whyskey with Kim, and Jan Nico
The distillery was founded in 1720 in the heart of Dublin. Okay, now, the old distillery is no longer a museum, it's been a few decades that the whiskey is distilled not here anymore. The visit is still very interesting and very serious. Luck for me, almost all information on the manufacture of whiskey is the same I remember GlenFiddish. For info, Jameson whiskey differs from Scotch Whisky by the lack of taste "smoke", this being due to the difference in the way of drying the barley.
Switty I present to you, it was the cat of the distillery, it seems he was formidable in the buildings of the distillery, it seems that even 'he managed to catch 20 mice in one day. In short, it was very appreciated there, so they have stuffed, and therefore, it is roughly 80 years it takes the dust up there!
The end of the visit is of course a tasting of whiskey, they even offer a lot of whiskey in coctail (Coke, ginger, strawberry) which is is rather rare in a distillery. Some lucky (as Jan) have the chance to make a comparison between an American bourbon (distilled once), Jack Daniel, a Scotch whiskey (distilled twice), I remember that, and Irish whiskey (distilled three times ), a good old Jameson course.
Go to complete a short tour through the shop, me Me, I found the bottles I wanted to buy (Dad, Mom?):
